Attendance and Progress Report

ATTENDANCE: 
The working hour from Monday through Friday is from 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm. On Saturday, the working hours are from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Students are expected to occupy their seats in their respective classrooms at the stroke of the second bell. Attendance will be marked at the commencement of each class. Therefore, late comers, though permitted to attend classes by the teacher concerned, will not be given attendance for the hour. 
If a student is absent for a whole day, an entry with the reason is to be made in the handbook. This needs to be signed by both the Class Teacher as well as the parent.
If a student is unable to attend the afternoon classes due to ill-health, he/she is required to inform the Class Teacher, before leaving the campus. An entry is to be made in the column provided for the day, in the calendar of the handbook. This is to be signed by the teachers as well as the parent.
If a student is taking part in any extra co-curricular activities, which would lead to absence during class hours, the signature of the concerned teacher is to be obtained in the calendar of the handbook.
If a student is absent for any test or examination, the parent is expected to inform the Class Counsellor through phone or in person, on the same day. A leave letter, along with medical certificate is to be submitted to the class counsellor on the first day when the student resumes class. Entry is to be made in the handbook and signed by the parent and class teacher. A fine will be levied in case this procedure is not followed.
Important: All absence from class for whatever duration or reason is to be entered in the calendar of the handbook, and duly signed by parents and concerned teachers.
No grace attendance will be given to students merely because they are members of sports teams, games, CSA, the cultural team, NCC and ACC etc. Students who take part in any extra-curricular activities of the college must immediately, and certainly not later than three days of his/her participation, submit to the office the “Co-curricular Participation Certificate” duly endorsed by the concerned teacher/ coordinator. This also applies to those students representing the college for competitions. As in the case of leave of absence, students will then be issued a form, which will have to be submitted back to the office with all the necessary information within three days. 
Payment of the examination fee is no guarantee that a student will be permitted to appear for the final examination. Only those who put in the minimum required attendance at the end of the academic year and have the minimum pass mark in the examinations conducted by the college as per the norms laid down by the college will be permitted to proceed to the annual examinations.
Permission for admission to the Department of Pre-University Examination will not be granted unless 
a. A student has put in at least 90% of attendance at the end of the academic year.
b. A student gets at least minimum pass mark in the Examinations conducted by the college as per the norms laid down by the college.
c. The Principal is satisfied with the character and conduct of the student.

Academic Performance

Parents are requested to meet and interact with the class and subject teachers, at least once a Term, to discuss the student's academic progress
  • Answer scripts are distributed within ten days of completion of every test or examination
  • Progress report is sent through the student, three weeks after term examination, Parents of students who fail in two or more subjects are requested to meet the class and subject teachers.
  • College provides extra coaching for weak student between 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm. Parents are requested to monitor their children's attendance of these extra classes, and periodically interact with the concerned co-coordinator for these coaching classes.
  • The college provides a Cumulative Record of the student's academic performance attendance record and extra-curricular activities, at the end of the Academic year. Keeping this in mind, parents are requested to encourage students to participate actively in all college activities and processes.
  • If the student has to leave the campus during college hours, for any reason, prior permission has to be taken from the Principal and Class Teacher compulsorily. Entry to be made in the hand book and duly signed by the same.
Online information of attendance and academic performance: The attendance and academic improvement of each student is periodically fed into the college website. Each student is assigned a password and log in number. Using these, parents can retrieve the details of their wards on a regular basis throughout the academic year.
